Handmade Soap Workshop
Who it is for – This is a workshop for beginners (those who have never made soap and those who have but want to deepen their theoretical knowledge)
Who it is for – This is a workshop for beginners (those who have never made soap and those who have but want to deepen their theoretical knowledge) to learn how to make soap in an immersive way and delve into the most important theoretical concepts of the chemical process that results in a solid, nourishing bar of soap; that nourishes the skin and nourishes the soul as we learn to take care of ourselves consciously, inside and out.
Objective – The objective of this workshop is that when you leave the course you will feel confident to replicate all the steps at home and design your own soap recipe that suits the needs of your skin.
What you will learn – You will learn how to make handmade soap through a theory class, an observation practice where our teacher, Adriana, will make a soap in front of the students to demonstrate the steps, followed by three other practices; one of essential oils and two of soap:
In the first one, you will learn how to create synergies with balanced aromas, through the use of the wonderful essential oils that accompany the soap and provide it with aromatherapeutic properties.
In the second, you will make a bar of soap of about 1.2kg, from start to finish. You will learn how to work with sodium hydroxide safely and you will learn how to make your own soap recipe to suit your skin’s needs.
In the third, you will assist a fellow workshop participant to make her soap, thus having two different experiences.
