Event Details

The next Meetup of Social Entrepreneurialship Barcelona will take place in transforma bcn on the 14th of July.

We are pleased to receive Renata Piazza, founder and director of Hasekura Program, a business exchange and training program for Japanese and European startups, SMEs and local authorities.

Renata established Hasekura Program in 2013, after experiencing the consequences of the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of March 11th 2011, with the aim of promoting  social innovation and cross fertilisation of business ideas between regions in Europe and Japan.

After 3 years of excellent results bringing  small groups of Japanese  entrepreneurs to  visit projects and exchange ideas with their European counterparts, Renata  will present the first  outbound study tour for European entrepreneurs, who share with their Japanese pairs a determination to solve similar  socio-economic problems: depopulation of rural areas, decreasing birth rates, aging society, need for environmentally conscious social development, etc.

This tour is targeted to professionals living in Europe and focuses in 2 areas:

Gastronomy and sustainable consumption

Responsible Tourism

The main objectives of the program are:

* Establish an active network of responsible tourism experts in Japan and Europe

* Act as a platform for sharing best practices and support the cross fertilisation of ideas among participants.

* Generate new collaborative projects between the involved parts

* Help designing new responsible tourism destination

If you have a social business in any stage that is related to tourism, gastronomy or sustainable consumption, we  strongly  recommend you come and meet Renata and the Hasekura team.

The session will be in English but Renata also speaks Spanish (Catalan, Italian, French and Japanese)  so you could ask her any questions after the meeting.
